- Casa El Nido ( The Nest ) is a private, spacious, 1 bedroom - 2 bathroom, 2 level casa. This little Mexican gem, has lush, walled gardens, and picturesque ocean and jungle views of beautiful Bahia de Tenacatita, on the Costalegre (the Happy Coast) of the Pacific side of Mexico.

Casa El Nido is positioned between two lovely hillsides, in a very quiet neighbourhood of La Manzanilla, facing out to beautiful Tenacatita. It is a 5 min walk, or a 2 min bike ride, to the pristine beach, el jardin (plaza), and all shops and restaurants that you will need.

The upper level terrazzo has a super-sized, comfy sitting area to relax, enjoy the views, or to entertain. Totally connect with your surroundings and the amazing ocean and jungle views. The entire upper terrazzo is open-air living space, which brings you immediately in touch with the nature around you. From here you will be gazing for hours at the captivating vistas of the ocean, and jungle trees, or rocking slowly in the breeze while reading in the hamaca. Casa El Nido is surrounded by lush vegetation which attracts many birds, lizards and small animals. From this enticing spot on the terrazzo,, you can watch the whales and porpoises with the spotter-scope in the bay, or while away the day, bird watching for the many varied and colourful species that visit El Nido regularly. After being mesmerized by the stellar sunset.... find a spot on the day bed, perfectly positioned for star-gazing through the night while listening to the calls of the iguanas and the geckos in the jungle.

The open-air kitchen, has 14ft vaulted ceilings and from over the sink area, looks out into the terrazzo and million dollar views of the ocean, hills and coco palms. The kitchen has a large island for prep, and is well stocked with cookware, bakeware and traditional Mexican glassware and Talavera. 4 burner gas stove w/oven, blender, coffee maker & toaster. Plenty of room for more than one cook!! There is another small table in the kitchen area for projects.

The second floor, full bathroom, features hand-painted Mexican Talavera accents, and alluring Parota Wood ceiling and arched doorway.

The first level of Casa El Nido is dedicated totally to the master suite and sitting area. As you reach the landing,, you will notice even the vistas from the first floor are quite breath-taking! There is a delightful covered terrazzo on this level as well. A large hamaca overlooking the heavenly gardens, with a little area to pause and reflect while admiring the tropical plants and flowers. You may even catch a glimpse of the Pygmy Owls who come to nest in branches of the stately tree.

The entire first level of Casa El Nido is comprised of the bright, airy bedroom suite. It has a superbly comfortable queen-size pillow top bed, that is accented by this unique, natural stone wall throughout. There is a very large walk in closet to the right with a wardrobe and plenty of storage, also 2 sets of tall drawers. The bedroom has a computer desk, and another generous sitting area by the phone. To the left is a large, cheerful bathroom with huge walk in shower boasting jungle and garden views.

La Manzanilla is nestled into a corner of Bahia de Tenacatita on the Costalegre, (The Happy Coast). This is the Pacific side of Mexico, approximately 3 1/2hours south of Puerto Vallarta and 1hour north of Manzanillo. It is a wonderful, authentic Mexican town, with good restaurants, and shops to supply you with necessities. The ocean is almost always perfect for swimming, boogie boarding, SUP boarding, whale watching, snorkelling, kayaking etc... with an average temperature of 80 degrees. The 5km beach is terrific for fishing, biking, running, and walking. The mangroves and surrounding hills are flourishing with bird and animal life. You may book a tour, or there are self-guided options. There are also many interesting activities and programs to get involved in throughout the year, such as Spanish and cooking classes, yoga & meditation, zumba, pickle ball, bocce, tennis, card clubs, art classes of varying types, writing workshops, and many kinds of music and dance.
Casa El Nido provides weekly cleaning services with your rental fees.
There are 2 bikes and snorkel gear available for your enjoyment.
We have secure parking for one small vehicle.
We also offer the services of a property manager.
